These thoughts of mine are the result of my readings, on the one hand, and my experiences over several years, during which I moved from excessive indulgence, heedlessness, and distance from God to extremism and fanaticism in religion, to where I am today. I consider—and God knows best—a form of moderation, neither excessive nor deficient. I continue to learn more every day, adding to my experiences and ideas. This, in the view of the philosopher Socrates, is true happiness, when he said: "True life lies in the continuous search for true knowledge." A deep sense and belief have been born within me over the past few years that there is much good in young people, if we can highlight and capitalize on this goodness. The current problem lies not in young people, but in the general environment—family, schools, and media—all of which have failed to understand young people and guide them to safety, and then to creativity, productivity, vitality, and activity.
