The village of Rijal lies midway between the Red Sea coastal region and the highlands of southwestern Saudi Arabia. Anthropologist Thierry Mauget has shed light on a part of this village's collective imagination by exploring the mural art, practiced by women in an exceptional way, in all its splendor. For her part, painter Magali Gentelot has demonstrated her talent by reviving and elevating this art form so that we can see—in its traditional and contemporary aspects—two symmetrical, responsive, and integrated models, ultimately forming a single work; thus, they form a unity without disunity.
