Diary of a Really Great Kid is not just about Rowley Jefferson, it also includes a large part of Greg Heffley's diary. Rowley will begin by telling us about his best friend Greg's life together as two mischievous misfits who had scary adventures and funny pranks together, and things about their families; and more, about what they thought was "a half-man, half-goat creature in the woods", and the moments of terror they experienced in "an old cemetery", and the story of Rawley slapping his friend Greg with a tennis racket after he thought he was a dangerous thief, and the story of Rawley saving his friend Greg from "Larkin's birthday party", and so on. Rowley continues to tell us about the day Greg invented an award for his friend Rowley and called it "The Good Boy Award", and about the day Rawley discovered that Greg was a lazy study partner when he turned studying into a game, and turned the exam into cheating and chaos.
