This book is for anyone interested in architecture, especially those who enjoy sketching, doodling, and dreaming about our built environment. It consists of a series of design drawing exercises ranging from entertaining to academic, and from informative to inspiring. The buildings and landscapes you choose to draw should serve as catalysts for creative new architectural designs while illustrating some of the concepts that underpin modern architecture.
While my drawings in this book are all monochromatic, fairly clear, and drawn with a fine pen (for clarity), we encourage you to experiment with a variety of representational media in your designs: pens, pencils, paints, charcoal, collage, and so on. I also intend to use the illustrations in the book to experiment with color and random drawing around and over the edges of the drawings, and of course, to draw in the large spaces provided.
