Product Details
There are few constants for architecture students. The architecture curriculum is challenging and complex, involving long hours, extensive texts, and often vague instructions. While architecture classes are fascinating—and they are—they are also riddled with exceptions and caveats, easily leading students to wonder if there is anything concrete to learn about architecture at all. The ambiguity of architectural instruction is largely necessary; after all, architecture is a creative field. Therefore, design instructors find it difficult to formulate rigid lesson plans for fear of imposing unnecessary restrictions or limitations on the creative process. The resulting openness allows students to discover many exciting new approaches, but they often feel that architecture is standing on shifting sands, not solid ground.
